Gowan's Notes to You :: 2010

As you may be aware, "Lawrence" the clone of all clones, travelled with Styx to the country of Mexico to play two shows: Mexico City and Monterrey. Crazy, spooky and unexpected coincidences continued to occur at every turn. For example; Tony Levin- the great legendary bassist who played on John Lennon's last two albums, is a longtime member of Peter Gabriel's band, and the man who added his deft touch to the Strange Animal record 25 years ago- was seated right beside me on the plane from Dallas to Mexico. ( how could American Airlines have known?). I had just handed Todd Sucherman (our Styx drummer and musician extraordinaire) his copy of the new disc "Return Of The Strange Animal" and he promptly handed it over to Tony, feeling it apropos to give it up to the man.
A very fitting gesture...(especially for a drummer!)
If you happen to get a copy of the dvd you will see a number of photo's of Tony in the documentary on the making of Strange Animal.
Soon thereafter we climbed the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon which were featured in the Moonlight Desires video from 1987.
At the top of the Moon pyramid of Teotihuacan Mexico: Gowan and Lawrence were re-unifyed once more! ( you can expect this to be an "on again off again" occurrence for the remainder of the year) and all was strange upon the earth.

Hello my friends, 2010 has indeed started with a few surprises and my identity is certainly proving to be one of them. I am experiencing some "out-of-body-back-into-body-transmigratory-body-experiences" which are difficult to describe. What could be the cause of such occurrences? Well, that IS the question. Or as Shakespeare put it: "To be the Strange Animal or not to be..." etc. (my Shakespeare is not quite up to the mark at present, but I seem to recall words to that effect. ) Anyway, suffice it to say that I've got it bad. Really so bad. I do ... er, that is to say: "I AM"
