i got my tickets the minute they went on sale but i had got row s, so we are going to sell those and either get row b, or c for the concert. Thing that sucks though is that i am not going to be able to stay and try to get an autograph cause i have to be at school in the morning and my dad has to go to work, but i least i will be really close to the stage, and hopefully i will get something of yours.

Greetings from London ON! I've sort of lost touch with the music of LG over the years, but the other night at the gym I heard some hip-hop tune which sampled from Criminal Mind and it brought back all sorts of memories. So I'm revisiting, pulling out all my CD's (and I have up to The Good Catches Up). I saw LG for the first time at Victoria Park in London waaaaaay back in 1985 (or was it 86?) when Criminal Mind was on the air-waves. Then there was the gig in a smokey bar at Cherryhill Mall - was Peter Fredette with you then? He rocks. - That was 1994, I was carrying my first-born at the time. The Jeans %26 Classics in Kitchener next year... will there be a similar one in London? You've done that before, haven't you.. I attended that one. Thanks for the music,

Hi Larry, good to see you're still alive and kicking! Edmonton misses you, can't wait to see you here again. I've met you a few time when I was living in Saskatchewan at Telemiracle (I'm the Western Canadain Fiona!), hopefully I'll get to meet you again.

Great move hooking up with Styx, they are an awesome band, and it seems to have really increased your fame in the US (as Canadians we know that the US market is much larger and necessary for a Canadian to break into).

Comments: I recently saw Lawrence with Styx. I was impressed! What a great showman! Dennis was a dork, still is, and doesn't seem to know it. Lawrence is the uberdork with Styx, loves it, and revels in it! All of his vocals and keyboards are spot on!! I first saw Styx on their "Cornerstones" tour, when Ricky Philips and the Babies were opening for them. Styx was pretty shabby then.
Now, Tommy and JY are still the rock gods they always were, and they have Ricky, Todd, and Lawrence, to back them!.
This is much better than the old Styx!

Topic: Meeting LG in Hyannis, MA, USA

Comments: I'm still on a natural high from meeting LG on Sunday, 21 August, in Hyannis Mass, USA. As he was exiting the hotel, I stopped him for a quick chat and gave him one of my well-worn 1985 Strange Animal t-shirts. (We had pics taken of him holding it up in front of me.) It took 20+ years of waiting and perseverance, but it those few minutes were totally worth it! The concert in Hyannis was memorable to say the least.
I was in the first row, sitting next to Styx's roadies (who very kindly told the ushers to stop making us sit down). LG brought down the house with 'I Don't Need No Doctor' as one of the encore songs. An amazing, energetic, and periodically comedic performance on a small rotating stage in very humid weather. His voice was pitch-perfect - he woke the angels on those high notes! The jumping, shaking, dancing (imagine James Brown in Riverdance), climbing, diving, picture-taking, and backwards-keyboard-playing got and kept the audience on their feet. He simply STOLE the show. AGAIN.

Larry, if you're reading this: A heartfelt THANK YOU for those few indelible moments. I hope you keep the t-shirt! Love always, Cara

Comments: A quick hello to everyone, and especially to Lawrence, as this is my first experience with this web site. I've thoroughly enjoyed exploring it and thought I would use the chance to share some thoughts.
My first Gowan concert experience was on the tour supporting Strange Animal. I was in my teens and this was one of my first rock shows. What I remember most clearly was the sheer energy of it all and, mostly, the incredible elation I felt at a time in one's life where it's hard to feel elated about anything. Although already a fan, I was now completely hooked. Fast forward some twenty years or so to a clear night under the stars in Ste-Adele, just a few weeks ago. What is it about outdoor shows that is so universally appealing? The musty smell of earth mixed with beer, the buzz of expectation as the sun starts to set; it's hard to say. All I do know is that when the show was on...magic. I had seen Styx (with Lawrence) in concert before but there was something about this night which has stuck with me. I guess the best way to describe it is, once again, elation. I love the feeling that suddenly, a few thousand strangers are now your best friends, and the musicians you have followed from afar are now in the flesh, sharing a unique experience with you as you breathe the same night air. And for a few short and precious hours, everything just feels right on the planet.

The simple thing for me to say would be thanks for the music. But, above all Lawrence, I would like to say thanks for the elation. It is an incredible talent to be able to provoke such a powerful reaction in so many people. We hope to see you again soon in Montreal.

Topic: Styx is coming to Winnipeg! YEHHH!

Comments: I beleive it was back in 1999 when we last saw you perform in Winnipeg. Since then,the closest we got was the Little River Rock Fest (two hours out of Winnipeg)that had the major lightning storm. You were there but could not go on stage due to the weather, and with my husband and I waiting in the front row, right by your keyboard! Oh well, you made up for it when we went to see you, REO, and Journey in St.Paul two years ago. The show was amazing, and it made for a great tenth anniversary trip for us.

Lawrence, the entire Strong family wishes you all the best. We can't wait to see you Sept 1.
